Una Ryan
Artistic statement
Una Ryan’s subjects include landscapes, seascapes and small details of nature which often go unnoticed in the undergrowth. Acrylics she finds useful when painting under conditions that demand speed. She feels the colours and tones seen in the moods of nature can sometimes be described better with the richness depth and textures of oils. Whatever the media, the season, our changing weather, skies and rolling landscapes are subject which inspire and challenge her. She never tires of learning and discovering new techniques to depict what is ever present around us.
