Annabel Potterton
Originally from England I now live outside Dunboyne on a small farm. Over the years the animals and birds, which we have kept, have featured in my paintings. I have also completed a number of commissions of children in rural settings. Despite a recent flirtation with painting pigs, it is really the human form that now inspires me. Queues of people, crowds, rows of spectators, the postures the gestures and the body language; I love watching and sketching people and am inspired by William Conor’s paintings of everyday life in Belfast. My preferred medium is chalk pastel or oil paint with oil pastel.
